About
I'm Mira Sohn, a freelance illustrator based in Seoul, South Korea. I care about warm, honest images and dependable collaboration.
Background
This is placeholder copy — swap it for your own story. Keep it warm and specific.
I've spent the last decade drawing for magazines, publishers, studios, and product teams. I started in editorial illustration, fell for character work along the way, and I've learned that a good picture is mostly a good idea drawn simply.
My favorite briefs are the ones with a real story to carry — a feature that needs a cover, a book that needs a world, an app that needs a little warmth. I work in gouache and ink textures with a tight, sunlit palette, and I like art that feels obvious in hindsight: nobody notices the drawing, they just feel the story.
Between commissions I keep a sketchbook, over-research pigments, and mentor illustration students. If any of that sounds like a fit, I'd love to hear what you're making.
Principles
You always know what's happening, what's next, and why.
The details matter — line weight, color, and the last 10% of polish.
Every piece serves the idea, not just a pretty surface.
No drama, no ego — just steady progress and honest feedback.
Kind words
“The illustrations gave our features a personality readers remember. Thoughtful work and a refreshingly transparent process.”
“Our whole cast came to life exactly as we hoped — delivered on time and easy to animate.”
